Talking about seminars?We had Sifu Al J.Dacascos here in Rincon Puerto Rico from Nov 25th to Dec 1st 1998.They were recieved by their WHKD/C.F./JKKK&Capoeira students from Aguadilla & Rincon leadered by Sifu David S.Saltares & Sifu Ruben Caban(Ruby).Sifu Santiago Castro was the coordinator of this trip & seminar & our Black Belts:Sifu Agustin Jr;Sibak Gerardo Tirado;Sihing Benjamin F.Carreo;Sihing Edward Figueroa;Sihing Jose L.Rosario;Sifu Sonny L.Martinez;Sihing Delvin Sanches & Sihing Hector Fernandez were part of the host team.Black Belts from other systems like Carlos Lopez-Tae-Kwon-Do;Angel Morales-TKD;Sensei Willie Hernandez-Hawaiian Kenpo & Sensei Torres from Ryu-Renshi-Dan were among the ones who shared their hospitality with our Sifus.Our Sifus Bill & Al Dacascos gave lectures & seminars of WHKD/C.F& Capoeira at the TKD Studio of Carlos Lopez in the town of Rincon & at the Ryu Dojo of CPK-Hawaiian Kenpo of Sensei Willie Hernandez in the town of Mayaguez P.R.Some of our Black Belts were promoted in this series of seminars for their training;knowledge & experience .Our Sifus recognized this ranks by signing the Certificates of Training that are not the kind of Honorific ones but real training ones.Three days of hard training;morning & afternoon were a great experience for us & for our Sifus too.We were waiting for this great moment of having this two Masters here in paradise for years & we made it with the help of our few students & friends in the arts we train.Soon we will meet to plan for a trip to visit our Sifus in Oakland & Oregon this year 1999,with Gods help. INTERNATIONAL KAJUKENBO SEMINAR: The 1rst International Kajukenbo Seminar was held here in the west coast of Puerto Rico on March 21th;1999.It was celebrated at the University of Puerto Rico(CAAM)in the town of Mayaguez.Among the special guests were;Sijo Adriano Directo Emperado;Prof.Kali Griffin from MA;Prof.Dechi Emperado from San Diego California;Sifu Miller from Vallejo California & many Masters of Kenpo,Kung-Fu,TKD,Goju,Judo, jujitsu & other systems of martial arts invited by Sigung Sixto Mendez & Sifu Josue(Gery)Mendez,actual Direct Sifus of the Founder of the KSDI in P.R.& Latin America.From Miami came Sensei Carlos Rodriguez of CPK-HAWAIIAN KENPO & all students & teachers had a great time,fun & swet.Sifu Saltares & Sifu Ruben Caban had a nice group doing the Seminar & had the chance of presenting Sijo Emperado with a special form,Kata,Palama or Pinian designed for competition.They recorded it & took it to USA to teach it there.New techniques were shown by the present & Kajuaerobics were tried by all the martial arts students at the Seminar.
